What happens in Ibiza stays in Ibiza...and on my blog! ;)

My trip to Ibiza, Spain was everything but disappointing. Instead of staying in Seville during the whole week of feria de abril, four of my friends and I rented an airbnb for four nights in the south of Ibiza. Honestly, I could not have gone to feria every day; my feet had blisters and I was dead tired after just three days of experiencing it.

Funny story...I actually missed my 6:40am flight to Ibiza that my friends and I had booked a month in advance...oops! But, I was able to hop on a flight at 9am instead and I made it to Ibiza that same day, just a couple hours after my friends who had made the flight did! I had set an alarm to wake me up, but I didn't hear it. Also, my friend had come to my door and knocked on it very loudly and I still didn't wake up. I think the lesson I learned from this is that I should not book 6am flights anymore, haha.

Anyway, I successfully made it to Ibiza and was able to have a great rest of the week there. I took a cab to the airbnb where my friends were already. The airbnb was super cute and had really cool art on the walls (see images below). On the day we got there, we went to the beach for a little and then around 8:30pm we went out for a drink and dinner. We went into this cool bar that had swings and huts to sit under. The drinks were delicious; I think I got a drink called a porn star martini, which is just another name for a passion fruit martini. I actually didn't know how much I liked passion fruit until coming to Spain, there are a lot of cocktails with passion fruit slices in them. I ate the seeds one time once the drink was finished and they were good. After a drink we went to a nearby kebab place and had kebab for dinner. Kebab (kay-bob not ka-bob) is one of my favorite foods and I am so sad America doesn't have it! We call kebab, meat on a stick, but kebab in Spain and Germany is like a sandwich. I will post a picture of kebab on this blog post.

The next day, we spent the day at the beach. It was such a coincidence actually because my aunt was at the same spot in Ibiza as I was on the same day!! She was doing a cruise around Europe with her husband and she found out I was in Ibiza on the same day that the cruise was docking there and texted me. So we met up at the beach and sat and talked for a little bit before she and my uncle went to go shopping in town. It was really nice to see her!

That night, we went to a club. One thing to note about Ibiza is that nothing is cheap. We didn't specifically come to Ibiza to go to clubs every night, but we wanted to try and go to at least one while we were there. So we did some research and we found a club that was only 25 euros to get in; the other clubs we looked at were 100 euros to get in, no drink included! And not only does it cost a lot to get in, each drink you buy in the club is 20 euros!! It was pretty fun and the music was good, but I wouldn't go back and club much unless I had a lot of money to spend.

On the third day, we rented a car and drove all over the island. It is actually pretty small, it only took us 30 minutes to drive from one side of the island to the other. We first drove to a hiking spot and did an hour and a half hike. Then, we drove to a beach and spent a couple hours laying on the sand and swimming. The water in Ibiza is so clear that we bought goggles and went snorkeling. I saw a bunch of small and medium sized fishies! After the beach we drove to another spot on the island and had dinner near the sea. We watched the sunset, drove to drop the car off, took a cab back to the airbnb, and went to bed.

On our final day in Ibiza, we went and had poke bowls at a restaurant close to the beach and then we went back to the airbnb and started getting ready for the boat party that we had booked from 5:30pm to 8:30pm that night.

The boat party was one of my favorite things we did in Ibiza. We paid about 90 euros and the party included a fun boat ride with dancing and music, all-you-can-drink Sangria, paella for dinner, champagne showers, and they even stopped the boat at one point and let us swim around for a bit. Our last night in Ibiza could not have been better.

The next morning we hopped on a flight back to Seville, and I didn't miss my flight this time!
