Before coming to Spain I knew I wanted to get a tattoo from here. I already had a lot of tattoos before coming here and I was anxious to get another one, especially since it would be from another country. After a couple months of being here and searching for an artist that I liked, I finally found someone who seemed like he was a good fit for me. The name of the studio that this artist works at is called No Name Studio and it is near the alameda which is a strip of restaurants and bars. I am a big fan of nature so I usually get tattoos that relate to nature in some way. I messaged the artist one day on instagram and asked him if he could meet with me to talk about designing and booking my tattoo appointment. I remember it was a Monday that we met. I showed him photos of designs that I liked and discussed a bit with him about what I wanted. I told him I wanted a tattoo that covered my back and went along my spine. Because I really liked his tattoo style I simply asked him to design a tattoo that included flowers and butterflies. A couple days later he sent me a design that he drew on his ipad and then said if there was anything I wanted to change or alter we could do that the morning of our appointment.
On the Friday of that week I went to his studio at around 11am and we changed a few things with the tattoo. Then, he printed the tattoo's stencil, placed it on my back, had me sit in a chair with my back towards him and he went to work on the tattoo. Since it was a pretty large tattoo we had to take breaks. He would work for about an hour and a half and then we would take a break, stretch, and talk a bit. He spoke both English and Spanish so it was easy for me to communicate with him.
After about three hours of him working on my tattoo, we took a longer break to go have lunch in a nearby restaurant with some of his other coworkers. He was so nice; he even paid for mine and his coworkers food! After we finished eating, we went back to the studio and he finished working on my tattoo. In total, it took about five to six total hours for him to complete the project. I was at the studio from 11am until 7pm.
I was absolutely astonished with the end result; it is one of my favorite tattoos now! At 7pm, I paid and thanked him and then went back to my residence. Not only did I get a beautiful tattoo that day, but I also gained an unforgettable experience.
