One of my favorite things to do on the weekends in Seville is go to mini festivals in the beautiful parks that are here. I actually know of a lot of other foreign exchange students who leave every weekend to take a trip somewhere else, and I truly believe they are missing out on spending time in one of the best places to study abroad at in Spain. Seville is a city with so much to offer and park festivals are one of those things.
There are two different festivals that I have been to in Seville. One is called Electrolunch and the other is called In the Park Sevilla. Electrolunch is in Parque Magallanes (near the river) and In the Park Sevilla is in Parque Alamillo. Both parties start in the late morning and end at around 11 or 12 at night.
There are families and young adults that attend Electrolunch. During the day, there is face painting, food trucks, music, dancing, drinks, and lots of dogs (my favorite part). Towards the end of the night, most of the families with their young kids are gone and there are mostly young adults listening to techno music at the big stage. There are actually two stages that you can go to when at Electrolunch. I have gone twice to Electrolunch and it has been a lot of fun each time.
The other park festival, In the Park Sevilla, is also an all day event where they sell food and drinks. I like In the Park Sevilla a bit more than Electrolunch because it has a small local market that you can walk through during the day to look at and buy local art and products. I also enjoy the park that this festival is held in, it is very large and there is a lot of grass to sit on. Lastly, In the Park Sevilla has amazing musicians that play a variety of music genres instead of only techno. I have also been to In the Park Sevilla twice.
